TLC’s in-house Safety Director has undergone extensive safety training and has earned teaching certification in OSHA requirements, CPR, First Aid, Rigging, forklift operation and many other trade skills. Our Safety Director is focused on planning safety into each task to meet our goal of zero injuries, which means zero negative impact to our workers, the project, and the client. We stand firm in our commitment that all employees return home in the same healthy condition as they arrived.
Every TLC superintendent has completed the OSHA 10 or 30 and is trained to setup and maintain a hazard-free job site. Our superintendents are always scanning the job site for little things that can make a big difference in the safety of their team. Every week, they hold safety meetings with their team to cover concerns and updates.
PERIODIC JOBSITE REVIEWS
Our Safety Director conducts periodic jobsite reviews to ensure full compliance with TLC’s Safety Policies, OSHA and any other applicable local, state or federal regulations. The Safety Director assesses the effectiveness level and performance of all job site personnel in meeting TLC Diversified Standards, as well as those required by any other regulatory body. Before the Safety Specialist leaves the job site, all areas requiring improvement are addressed and communicated to each co-worker on-site, and corrective measures are taken.
WEEKLY TOOLBOX DISCUSSION
Each week, fifteen-minute “Tool Box” safety talks are distributed to the project supervisor. Specific topics are suggested for discussion; more importantly, supervisors are requested to review recent injuries, unsafe acts, additions to Hazard Communications and upcoming work requiring special crew precautions.
Accident reports are reviewed by the Safety Director, Construction Manager and Project Manager. Corrective action is taken when required.

MEET OUR TLC SAFETY VAN
It is loaded with hard hats, safety gloves, harnesses, eye/ear protection, gas detectors, high visibility vests, and other items needed to keep our crews safe. The Safety Director uses this van during all site safety inspections. While on site he is able to replenish the supply of safety gear/items needed for that project. The crews love it and it’s another tool that contributes to keeping us in line with our Safety Always commitment.
