OUR COMMITMENT

OUR MISSION

Customer satisfaction and pushing the edge are the center of our company culture. We create strong relationships between colleagues and customers with flexible service and open lines of communication. TLC employees do more than just work in the same office; we are a family of support and encouragement.

Our mission is to serve the environmental contracting industry with the best in customer service and quality value with a commitment to safety and consistent development. Our mission to create a lasting impression extends through our people into the larger community and into the construction industry as a whole.

SAFETY IS LIFE

Safety, simply, is our way of life. We are committed to creating an injury free and healthy life for our co-workers, clients, and construction partners. To that end, we have been working toward achieving a greater level of excellence in safety by embracing a concept called Safety Always. This concept is a personal and organization commitment to creating an environment free of injury.

At TLC, productivity isn’t about shortcuts – it’s about creating the right conditions for schedules and plans to be completed on-time or with time advantage. This includes preplanning, setup, deploying trained workers with the right tools and equipment, as well as the correct degree of instruction and supervision.

We harvest a culture of company safety which brings our crews home safe each day by…

  • Accepting personal responsibility for our own and others’ safety
  • Sharing knowledge, best practices, tools and resources
  • Investing in learning and development
  • Taking action, always and immediately
  • Expecting similar dedication from our construction partners
  • Honoring those who live safe and healthy lives

SAFETY DIRECTOR

TLC’s in-house Safety Director has undergone extensive safety training and has earned teaching certification in OSHA requirements, CPR, First Aid, Rigging, forklift operation and many other trade skills. Our Safety Director is focused on planning safety into each task to meet our goal of zero injuries, which means zero negative impact to our workers, the project, and the client. We stand firm in our commitment that all employees return home in the same healthy condition as they arrived.

SUPERINTENDENTS

Every TLC superintendent has completed the OSHA 10 or 30 and is trained to setup and maintain a hazard-free job site. Our superintendents are always scanning the job site for little things that can make a big difference in the safety of their team. Every week, they hold safety meetings with their team to cover concerns and updates.

PERIODIC JOBSITE REVIEWS

Our Safety Director conducts periodic jobsite reviews to ensure full compliance with TLC’s Safety Policies, OSHA and any other applicable local, state or federal regulations. The Safety Director assesses the effectiveness level and performance of all job site personnel in meeting TLC Diversified Standards, as well as those required by any other regulatory body. Before the Safety Specialist leaves the job site, all areas requiring improvement are addressed and communicated to each co-worker on-site, and corrective measures are taken.

WEEKLY TOOLBOX DISCUSSION

Each week, fifteen-minute “Tool Box” safety talks are distributed to the project supervisor. Specific topics are suggested for discussion; more importantly, supervisors are requested to review recent injuries, unsafe acts, additions to Hazard Communications and upcoming work requiring special crew precautions.

ACCIDENT REPORTING

Accident reports are reviewed by the Safety Director, Construction Manager and Project Manager. Corrective action is taken when required.

MEET OUR TLC SAFETY VAN

It is loaded with hard hats, safety gloves, harnesses, eye/ear protection, gas detectors, high visibility vests, and other items needed to keep our crews safe.  The Safety Director uses this van during all site safety inspections. While on site he is able to replenish the supply of safety gear/items needed for that project.
