PROJECT SUMMARY
City of St. Pete SWWRF Expansion
This project involved the construction of a Chlorine Contact Tank Expansion and coating of same, Backwash Pump Improvements, Chlorine Storage and Feed Systems, and Provisions for Precast Electrical Buildings. Requirements to perform the work included maintenance of plant operations, temporary cofferdams, bypass pumping, dewatering, temporary sheet piling, earthwork, and select demolition of the existing CCT wall and chemical feed tanks and equipment. The project also involved the complete rehabilitation of the Leopold Sand Media filter system, including new blowers, air piping, underdrain, backwash troughs, media, gallery piping, instrumentation, controls, and coating of internal filter surfaces and gallery piping as well as structural modifications to the 10 MG reclaimed tank allowing it to receive surge flow during wet weather. The overall plant capacity is 20MGD.
